Go up one level in this thread
So let me get this straight.... You write a post which is *quite* inflammatory, and unclear, accusing people who write chess programs of being criminals if they don't "share" their work (you were not explicit...using the word "sell" would have been much clearer), with a title that is guaranteed to attract attention, then you complain (in very foul language, in at least one post) that you are getting flamed for writing it? Somehow, because you write a poorly-worded, inflammatory post, you become the victim when people respond to it? I don't think so. I *have* read your original posting very carefully, and it is *certainly* unclear. Your use of the word "share" could *very easily* be misinterpreted by an intelligent person as meaning that you feel that their program should be given away. If you didn't mean that, then why not write "sell" ? Your allusions to money clarify it somewhat, but not totally. You cast nasty criticisms on people who choose to to share or sell their work, which is a universally recognized right. The when you are criticized, you resort to a foul-mouthed four-letter response. To me, you are completely responsible for generating the negative responses that you did. You chose to post an inflammatory posting, with a title guaranteed to draw attention. You chose to use unclear language, and you chose to respond in a completely inappropriate manner when you were criticized. You made the mistakes. The very best thing you could do to attempt to repair the damage to your name (which you have greatly increase by your negative actions) would be to stop posting on this thread, apologize for being inappropriate, stop blasting the moderators, stop portraying yourself as a victim, and let this die down. If you will notice, I am not one of the people who responded to your initital post. I am fairly typical of many people on here (I believe), and I am appalled by your behaviour. Chris Dorr USCF Master
