I think the programs you mention are not available for Mac, and I don't know if it will run properly under MS DOS emulation, at least not as fast as a PIII. AFAIK the G4 is a very fast one, and Macs are of course easy to use (and looking nifty). There are a lot of good chess programs for Mac btw, Pete Galati has links on his pages to Mac chess software (free/shareware). If you're looking for the Fritzes and the other commercial beasts, and you're only in for chess with the computer, stick to a windows system. Buy as fast as you can and with lots of internal memory, comes in handy for graphical apps. By going from 128Mb to 256 Mb on my own PII@450 system the video speed nearly tripled. If you're in for processor speed I have read that the newest AMD K7 is beating even the PIII@733MHz. That's good for node count. Good luck! Jeroen ;-}
