At depth 16 Hiarcs 7.32 says

Alexander,

Are you familiar with the engine settings of Nimzo? I have Nimzo 99 and have
tried to change the settings, but even with the help of ChessBase (Steve Lopez'
T-notes on Nimzo 7.32) I am still puzzled what effect changing the parameters
has.

E.g. the settings for the pieces.
Nimzo 99 (and I think 7.32 will as well) tells me:
Q 1320
R 685
B 433
N 427
p 110

according to "conventional" wisdom, the pawn is undervalued and the Queen
overvalued. And why the difference between B and K?
I changed those parameters once in
Q 950
R 500
B 300
N 300
p 100

but Nimzo was seriously weakened (about 600-700 points.....) Indeed it played a
risky game with the queen not watching her steps too carefully.
Seems they have another way of interpreting the mentioned values than more
standard they use. But based on what? I'm puzzled.

Any ideas or experiences?

thx.

Jeroen ;-}
