I have the books for Crafty, and I don't think that matching the engine against
itself is the problem. Sorry that was a bad example. Even when I play human vs
machine, crafty still does not move. I don't think the problem is with the books
at all in fact, because in a five minute game, crafty doesn't make a single move
before running out of time. The engine seems to be working though, because I can
see the thinking lines displayed above the board. I've looked at some config
files I downloaded from webpages, but they don't seem to do much. =(
