I am not a very strong chessplayer at the moment but Hiarcs gives me a rating of
about 1386. If i set it up to play me at one ply it wins most of the time. I
think i estimated 1700 or so. I would like to see if a master or GM can find out
how much ply the program must look to equal the Titled players strength. The
limits are time ofcourse where on a K6-3 450 i have seen 10 ply take 2 hours and
11 minutes. We find out 6 ply master and 10 GM we might be able to estimate 40/2
for every program even though the SSDF ratings are way off (i think about 200
points too High) we can say that since these two programs are of relative
strength X ply at 40/2 = Master. However like others have said 10 ply for
Chessmaster isn't the same as 10 for Hiarcs:) Just a thought thank you
