I never had the patience for correspondence chess and I think the older I get the less patience I have. I do enjoy playing through correspondence games because the level of play is usually better than over the board. Actually I'm surprised by your statement that you think top engines may be 2400 at correspondence chess. I don't think many people here believe they are at GM strength in correspondence chess. Most of the questions concern over the board rating vs GM's. I would have guessed that at correspondence chess they would be less than 2400 but maybe you are giving them the benefit of doubt.
