for me when i play computers there are types of positions i try to avoid .

1.i try not to trade down too much
2.keep things complex as long as posible .
3.try to keep the center blocked
4.trade queens fast if posible (computer excells with queen )

but even with that plus what ever chess skill i have it usually only prolongs
agony .but lately i have been playing odds games vs fritz to try and see how
much better it is than me .fritz cant spot me a rook at speed chess or i will
win .with a knight it is hit miss with me winning 70 % .with a bishop i do
better about 80% . with only a pawn i am less than 20 % . i think if fritz can
spot someone a queen and still win ,that person is in bad need of some chess
study .
