Chessmaster for the gameboy is probably as good a chess program as can be
implemented on that hardware. It searches about 80 to 100 moves a second. It has
a matefinder mode as well. The display is a real strain for adult eyes. I also
have a 4 in 1 cartidge that includes chess, checkers, othello, and backgamon.
The chess program in that cartridge is very weak. I'm a weak chess player but I
can beat this chess program with both eyes tied behind my back. The chessmaster
cartridge however is much much stronger and has many good features. It does not
display a score though it does display ply depth and PV to several ply. It
thinks on your time.
