Actually, it sounds like a very good idea.  In that way, we also have
independent validation of exactly what the setup was, etc.  Further, since it
not the original author we have a certain level of abstraction -- perhaps even
creating a more scientific experiment.

IOW, the independent party has nothing to gain or to lose.
