From all of what I have read here from chess programmers, it seems that many of them feel identified with their respective engines. Some of them seem to look their program as a separate entity, always giving it some human attributes. Other programmers simple seem to look at their program as a part of themselves, they feel the same a human player feels when the engine is playing. Why? Is it simply because they have spent countless hours working on computer chess? Or has the program really evolved into a separate entity, or even merged with the programmer? José.
