Go up one level in this thread

Guys, girls, I would much rather that we could end this thread. Uri, everybody,
there is no real doubt in my mind mind that Bella is/was Chris Whittington. I
still see this as defensible as a symbolical thing. Everything Chris would write
would be read in the context of his past actions which I understand were not
much of a success here. So I see that more like, this is possibly Chris but
judge me by what I do and say now, not on what has gone before. Part of as much
of a fresh start as possible. So I was hoping some of us would want to go along
with that a little and I think most did. It would not be the first time that
somebody used an alias and that does not have to be a problem in itself.

I have not read any of the removed posts of Bella nor any of the insulting
e-mails. I regret these and many of the still standing inflammatory posts and
appreciate everybody's efforts in this matter. We can have long discussions
about whether any of Bella's observations about our community were just meant to
make us come out or something, thinking we and more specifically "fellow"
programmers were not seriously wanting to listen or discuss anymore. Many of her
posts were coloured that way I think. Bella was not showing a very optimistic
view of the world and that I find the most important thing about this whole
matter. Can we afford to ignore that? I kind of feared *for* Bella and I still
do I suppose..

I don't particularly look forward to another "Moderation: Insults" thread, but
want to defend that banning somebody permanently is a worse punishment for some
than for others. I think there are extenuating circumstances in Chris' case.

I don't really see what can be said against the postulation of a form of dark
matter even if we don't know what it is? That is just a label for something
that seems to exert a gravitational effect. What little that I know of it is
that the jury is still out on whether there can be found a particular Big Bang
theory, inflationary or not, to describe the observations. Too soon to tell in
my opinion. Fascinating subject. Wish I had the math skills to follow any of the
formulas involved...
I would much rather discuss this here than anything Chris is or isn't doing at
the moment, moderators. I hope Chris has found some inspiration for the moment
and some new ideas to work on computer-chess or on his Shogi program. I wish him
well.

Regards,Eelco
