Almost all the C++ compilers you can buy also work as C compilers.  There are
exceptions, of course.  One example is our DEC/COMPAC C++ compiler.  It won't
even compile a C program with a variable called 'new' in it.  But
Borland/Inprise, Microsoft, etc. will all compiler C programs without any
difficulty.

You can get a very good compiler for free from Cygnus.  If you have some
platform other than Intel, you can also get a version of GCC for that, most
likely.
