After a quick read of the Rebel web site pages, which claimed all kind of great things about Rebel-Tiger, I was eager to play some games vs. it, to get an impression of its playing style. To my luck, FICS has chesspartner(C), which is running Chesstiger 12e. After playing some games, I must say I found it very easy to keep at bay in a closed position. The program will manoeuver into a strong position, but then, well ...just start shuffling pieces. Very typical for a knowledge-lacking program. (some would call this a typical Bean-counter ;) I wasn't impressed at all... So I wonder...how do Rebel-Tiger and ChessTiger relate ? Does the one have more knowledge than the other, or is it just another interface ? Also: are there any more 3d boards planned for Chesspartner ? The one that's with the demo version seems quite unusable to me. -- GCP
