I changed the BAD_TRADE code in Crafty a bit, so that a piece for two pawns
isn't bad if it opens a file in front of the king, and as long as the attacking
side has a Queen. If it opens a file, but there's no Queen, it still gets a
negative score, but not as big as normal. It seems to work pretty well on these
positions - My modified Crafty 17.2 solved all but a few of them (PII-300,
didn't let it search very long).

I think this one may be dubious, but it's hard to tell. There are many possible
lines, some of which are only very deeply seen to be winning for white.

The line 1. Bxh6 fxg6 2. Rxc3 Bxd4+ 3. Rxd4 gxh5 is interesting. Can white do
something better? How will white win after this?
