	There are many ways to do this. Maybe the most popular is auto232, for that you
will have to ask somebody else.
	Xboard lets you play two engines on different machines with very simple
command-line options, the physical details of the connection are transparent to
me. The programs I can play on two machines via Xboard are: crafty, exchess,
faile, gnuchess, gromit, olithink and phalanx (there might be more that I have
not tried). No special settings for the programs are required.
	I think Winboard lets you do the same, but you need to enable some non-standard
features in Windows. You can ask Tim Mann about the details, he is very
friendly.
