Sounds like a complete faulty battery failure to me. And I think that warrenty does not cover this type of damage for the Chess computer. It's I would think pretty much the same a you throwing the computer against the wall and expecting them to fix it. Just about all warranties only cover product failure not out side things stuffing it up. Call Durracell and tell them that the battery stuffed up your computer. I hope you have the battery still cause without it, you have no chance of getting any compensation out of them. I once found some fibre in a large tin of coffee I bought. No idea what it was, but rang the company and said to me it looked like a hair, (which it did). I said I threw it out, but that did not stop them from sending me a check valued a twice the product value. But there is a big difference between the value of a coffee tin and a chess computer, so their hearts might not strech that far. Plus, always check that your batteries look at least sturdy enough to use
