I'll admit I chuckled, but I don't know why it is so difficult to believe the
machine is beatable. Take some opening subject to pawn storms, such as some
Sicilian lines, or King's Indian, and the programs CAN slip up. Most especially
in blitz games. I have played games where the program will gobble up a pawn,
allowing me to open up lines against it, and the attack really is quite easy to
build, then suddenly the computer is giving me loads of material to prevent some
combination that I may not even have seen (!) and of course lose. They're damn
good, I'll be the first to acknowledge it, but they are certainly not gods.
