the strongest chess machine has defeated the strongest man at (40/2) now all is
left is for all the little computers to mop up the impatient human race .lets
look at the + - of the computer and the human .

computer -
1.very little chess understanding
2.plays weak closed formation
3.has to analyze countless garbage moves
4.has hard time zeroing in on a long term plan

computer +
1.precise play in simple and tactical positions
2.nerves of steel
3.never overlooks anything it see's
4.never gets tired
5.has no fear of opponets
6.deep searches in complex positions

human -
1.chess blindness
2.get tired
3.lose concentration
4.average to weak tactically vs computer
5.over confident
6.fear the other player ie(kasparov vs deep blue)

human +
1.can make very deep long range plans
2.understands the position
3.can feel the king getting into trouble
4.understands opponets weakness
5.is very good in pet oppenings
6.are very sneaky and devious ie bait the opponet

now i'm sure there are some i missed but the bottom line is computers are
getting better year after year .can man continue to get better or is there a
limit .i dont think man is getting better .i think man is getting woarse .man
relies more and more on the computer instead of his own mind .also as time
controls speed up chess quality will suffer .the old masters will be replaced by
people who are barely IM at slow games but tactical wizzards and beat player
they would not beat at the slower time controls.there by speeding up the process
of computer domination .
