The problem is not the smallest amount of RAM needed to run the thing. The
problem is the less that is acceptable to run it smoothly.

I have personally verified on my computer that with 32Mb W95B was OK, and when I
installed W98, I had to install an additional 32Mb RAM module to get the same
reactivity.

This is a subjective matter, but that's what happened to me.

Then, when I discarded W98 and reinstalled W95B on the same computer, I was
astounded by the speed difference. So I can say I have witnessed the difference
2 times. When I switched from W95B to W98, then when I switched back from W98 to
W95B.

That's interesting, I'll try.

However, this reminds me of the claims I have heard when W98 has been released.
Microsoft said it was faster than W95. Rubbish, as usual.

You think it's a joke? We'll see. Of course, on W2000 you'll run Office2000 (for
some reasons I don't understand Office97 will be judged as unacceptable on this
system, and people will install Office2000).

I bet that W2000+Office2000 will not run at an acceptable speed on a 64Mb
computer.
