I found out by accident that a new portable unit, Miami, has been made by Mephisto. This product is estimated at 1900 ELO and costs around 50 USD, a very good deal. I was ashamed that I did not know about this unit considering my ever burning desire to learn and buy the latest chess software and computer. Are there any sites that have information on chess computers (not software)? Any rumors on a Sapphire III? Thanks for your time.
