i think it depends more on the position as to how strong a computer is .if the
position is closed and blocked then the computer plays much weaker . if the
position is wild and tactical the computer should play much stronger .so
sometimes when you go over a GM game you find that the computer will find moves
that the GM's flat out miss .but then you must ask the question could the
computer have reached such a position in the first place ??? also the time
control makes a differance plus how many games a person plays the program a
strong player may be able to bust holes in the program over time .a master
player would vary his play or style to avoid this ,the computer dont or cant do
this .
