I can say nothing about last version of Fritz, I don't have it, but around 5 years ago I tryed some version of Fritz that not only was not able to see the mate but was ready to crush each time when you left some heavy pieces on the board. The same was true for Mchess and partially for Wchess. ChessMaster 4000 responded all the time correctly, even if there were many queens that could run it mad. The same impecable response came from Genius 2. My impression is that solving the problems is not something that many people look for. This is why this part of chess game is almost never well done, in other words, neglected. Leonid.
