But, originally I did have problems which I attributed to AMD and caused problems at times elsewhere. I went to one of those Windows FAQ groups and found people who had similar problems and finally tweaked out the problems. Now everything is working fine. But if I ever buy another computer I think it will be INTEL. Of course none of the FAQs refered to chess programs but to various other problems, when fixed also fixed any chess problems. I have Windows98, and I do know that AMD had problems with Windows95 which AMD attributed to Microsoft. There is a fix at the AMD site for this. I originally tried it on Win98, but it will only work for Win95, ors2.
