How about a third accomplice, looking at the game and using a mobile phone or
two empty cans with a string tied between? (hold tight, or else transmission is
bad)

Or is that too low tech?

Jeroen ;-}

Can you imagine, talking into a little mike behind the board, and then halfway
lousy communications?

Allwermann (mumbling)
Opponent: "What is that?"
Allwermann: "Sorry, nothing"
Opponent: "Oh" (moves)
Allwerman (whispering): "Knight to e4"
Opponent: "Huh?"
Allwermann: "Nothing, just confirming your move"
Opponent: "Yeah, I see"
Allwermann: "No you fool, not Queen but Knight to e4!"
Opponent": "Yes, I know...
Allwermann: "Shut up, I wasn't talking to you"
Opponent: "Sorry"
Allwerman (raising his voice in anger): "I don't care what Fritz says!! Knight
to e4!!"
Opponent: "Fritz who?"
Allwerman(read headed): "Did I ask you something, bozo?"
Opponent (to the side, whispering to others:) "Is that drug testing thing
already accorded by FIDE?"
