Just to clarify Gerard, I feel that the overall ratings given by knowledgable authorities such as ICD for the relative playing strength of a dedicated unit or software is fairly acurate most of the time. My last message referred specifically to the so called "Rated Personalities" in the chessmaster series. It's those ratings that I think are pretty generous. Having said that though, i'd have to agree that Cm600 is at or near GM strength on a decent computer and it crushes me when played at full strength! Dave
