Can you elaborate?  I've never heard of *any* X86 applications that won't run on
an AMD processor.

The problem you're describing had nothing to do with AMD CPUs - it was a problem
with the AGP support in the chipset and/or poor video drivers (Diamond is the
worst offender).  AFAIK, these problems have all been solved.

Here I agree - Asus makes great motherboards.
