I've had my 600MHz Athlon since September - no problems at all with it. It runs Crafty very fast, also had no problems with Zarkov in BookUp, Fritz 4.01 in ChessBase Light. As yet I don't have any other chess programs on it, but I'm sure I will soon... As for other games - eg Command and Conquer, Civilisation, Need for Speed - all great! The very worst I've heard about the Athlon is that in the Rebel benchmark it was 'only equal to a PII of same MHz' - but what on earth is wrong with that? No reason not to buy one... And in many bechmarks, reviews etc it is reported faster and stable. Owen
