Hey, hang on here for a min. I have all of the more recent crafty engines. I
have played crafty by hand, (no auto advantage for crafty) on chess servers with
my known friends against the likes of Hiarcs7.32, fritz5.32, fritz6, junior5,
nimzo99 on a P11, 450 mhz computer with 256meg ram ! The computers on the other
end of the server are identical to mine !. I will not comment on long time
controls. I will tell you that on dynamic, active time controls from blitz game
in 5 min to 30 min crafty is inferior to ALL of those programs. Understand me
this is not a knock of crafty's versions, it is a very strong freeware program.
For reasons that i dont not know the program is just a tad weaker in the above
time controls. I dont understand it, cause if you were to ask me for a vote on
the most ellegant spoken, pro on computer programming theory Dr. Hyatt would get
my vote hands down. No contest, period, (in my opinion of course).
