I'm not saying it's impossible to put the Deep Blue chip design on an FPGA, but from what I know about digital design, it's very unlikely. The beauty of bulletin boards is that everybody gets to talk about whatever they want. Nobody is forcing you to reply to my posts. And regarding the chess aspect of this project, you will not have any with volunteers. Hsu is a smart guy and he's devoted 20 years of his life to this stuff, with significant (paid) help from other people, too. You will not find highly skilled people willing to do that amount of work so you can get some publicity. -Tom
