I tried this with the fritz demo version and i noticed this : The crafty process is killed and run at each move. You can verify this by configuring crafty with log ON. It generates a new log file at each move. I consider this is a _BIG_ handicap. I am not sure it is the same with the engines delivered with the fritz product (some does not use the winboard adapator ?). However, crafty obtained (in my test) a very good score in blitz 4' with AMDK6-3 450 (+5,-5 and 1 draw). Perhaps there is a way to configure fritz 6 to avoid running the process at each move. Fritz seems to analyze two plies deeper than crafty but crafty is very good in the finals.
