I was a USCF rated player in the 1970's. I played in the US Open tournament held in New York in 1974 and got stand next to Sammy Reshevsky. The highlight of the tournament for me was when he looked at me and said, " if you don't stop asking for an autograph, I'll call the police". * sighs * Those were the days. Seriously, my highest rating was around 1620. My highest rated opponent was Jorge Massana, rated about 2100 at the time (1977). So trust me, I am not a beginner and I can tell when I am getting crushed by a stronger opponent. I cannot now, nor at my peak, beat one of the top commercial programs.
