Peter, first of all, my conflict is with people who, while professing that they are "average" (not IM or GM strength), can nevertheless defeat commercial programs at their strongest settings. If you aggree with that observation, fine. But don't be confused by the passion which is boiling over. I have never stated categorically that a player who is an IM or GM cannot on occasion defeat a program. As for the tournament you mentioned, correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the human competitors are either IMs or GMs. No? My pig is learning how to land at night.
