My original Chessmaster 7000 CD received in October would not install and operate correctly as reported on this board. Today I received a replacement CD and have installed and tested it. It works substantially OK, with only relatively minor issues discovered so far. That is in great contrast with the former CD which was so buggy that it was almost impossible to operate the software. I believe this is strong evidence that the original CD was defective. Both CDs were/are version 1.0.0. It also suggests the possibility that others who have had severe problems with CM7000 also received a defective CD. Maybe there was a bad batch. --JRM
