Yes, but Bob wrote exactly why memory is the necessity, and you did not explain how you plain to avoid using it. You can waive your hands in the air as long as you wish; but when it comes down to technical details, I'd recommend you to listen to others, who have some experience in that area (especially Bob). Yes, Bob is often harsh - he teaches students, and it's not easy for him to turn off his "mentor tone". But he has a lot of computer chess experience, including "big iron" one - and it's very rare here. Eugene
