Why don't you look at the PGN Enrique posted. It had the names of the players
that beat the computers. It had their ratings. You can easily go to the
current FIDE list to confirm that they are not on there as GM or IM players.

Why not simply do your homework? Enrique took the time to find two games and
post them with full PGN headers. He cited the tournament. You can go look up
the 1996 Aegon event to see the list of participants, since you don't want to
believe that there were anything but GM/IM humans playing. Rather than
believing, ever heard of doing the research to find the truth? Surely as a
"3rd year law student" you have some experience doing this, assuming you are
at a reasonable law school. Just check out the details. Quit the hand-waving.
Ask _any_ programmer here if he believes that he can lose a game to a <2000
rated chess player. Ask _any_ programmer here if he believes he can lose to a
non-IM/GM player. Ask _any_ programmer here if he believes that he can't
possibly lose a game/1 minute game vs an IM or GM or even a Fide master.

I'll answer for my program. Yes it can lose to any of those. Not often. But
I would certainly not bet my house on a 10 game match.

I'm a bit wiser than that.
