A fine set of bugs fixed, but nothing really that comes close to what happened
to me. These are mostly program game fixes. Nothing else. So even after this
first patch there looks no way that I will install CM7K again on my main System.

Further more this does little to calm the fears that something bad might happen
to someones system.

So my answer still remains that CM7K will have to be bypassed by me this time
around. Which when considering that there is no new engine to play around with,
is of little loss.

Plus one little bit of info for the development team and and other programmer
who thinks its okay to release crap programs with bugs and expect us to test it
for them so they can release patches later on to fix these bugs.

4 young children I know on my advice have bought CM6K. Out of these 4, none have
access to the internet, thus no idea that patches are available, nor that they
could ever get them, apart from someone like me getting it for them.

So the moral of the story is, not everyone who buys these games can get stuff up
programming patches to fix what should be a playable game. Maybe you could ask
but not really get an answer from the minds at mindscape as to how many people
buy chessmaster and are able to get or even know about patches. Not everyone is
on the net, and even if they are, maybe never even know about patches that are
avaiable.

So I hope that someone passes this method of program testing to the relevant
people that it is unacceptable.

I have seen programs I have loaded of cd's that come with computer magazines
stating that if any bugs are found to notify the programmer to do insufficent
testing. We should not have to pay money for what really is a beta program.

I think when someone releases patches, and many patches, it does not look good
for the quality of that programmer or company. Maybe one reason Microsoft rules
the market but has a very bad reputation for doing poor jobs in certain areas.

Difference is, we have more choices in chess programs, and if it is not up to
standard we can dump it for another one, or get rid of it altogether. Whereas
Microsoft has a bit more control.

Take careful note of this Mindscape.
