After positive results with Fritz 6 Light in the Nunn-test against Fritz 6 I played a tournament with Fritz- and winboard-engines. I included the new native Comet B11 from Fritz demo. Crafty 17.4 as winboard engine has problems with the time management under Fritz. Therefore I chose the native Crafty 16.18. Here the final results: Blitz-tournament "4min+4s" / 8 rounds ===================================== (Commercial Fritz 6 GUI, 16 MB Hash, Hongkong-book, no permanent brain, no table bases) 1 Fritz 6 37.0/48 2 Fritz 6 Light 37.0/48 3 Fritz 5.32 30.5/48 4 Crafty 16.18 (native) 18.0/48 5 AnMon 5.03 17.5/48 6 TCB 0045 15.5/48 7 Comet B11 (native) 12.5/48 Another engine-engine test Fritz 6 Light vs Fritz 6 under the same conditions as above ended 12:12 after 24 games. From all these results I conclude that Fritz 6 and Fritz 6 Light are more or less equally performing (up to 32 MB Hash). Thus it may possible to use both engines in engine-engine tests for parameter testing under the Fritz 6 desktop (which I started now). Horst Upadek
