If a GM sticks in false analysis firstly he's (she's wouldn't do such things) got to get it past the expert editorial board, and then if his peers saw through his falsity, they could point fingers at him & laugh, or prepare a trap for his trap. There are definitely mistakes made though, no question. I can't recall the line, it was another Petroff, but a "best theoretical novelty" in one issue became a ??, six months later.
