Below I copy a post of Eric Hallsworth on RGCC. I verified the bug he reports
and I can confirm it. This means that all engine-engine games we played in Fritz
6 are worthless. Until a patch is made available, it is better to stick to F532,
H732, J5 or N732. Most enterteining. :(((

Be careful when you LOAD a NEW engine under Fritz6 or Junior6... they
have a bad habit of taking on the engine parameters which applied to the
program previously loaded!

For example, if you have Fritz6 loaded (default is selectivity 2) and
you load Hiarcs732, you will find Hiarcs takes on the selectivity of 2
even though its own default is 5!

If you correct Hiarcs to selectivity 5 and then later change back to
Fritz6, surprise... Fritz6 loads with selectivity=5 instead of
selectivity=2.

So, every time you change an engine under Junior6 or Fritz6, make sure
you click on ENGINE PARAMETERS and click on DEFAULT to make sure you get
the correct settings for that particular engine.

This would not only be important for normal play and analysis, but also
if you are playing an ENGINE-ENGINE match, or an ENGINE tournament. If
you play a match with Fritz6 on its correct selectivity 2 against
Hiarcs732 'lumbered' with Fritz6's selectivity 2, you can guess who'll
win, etc. etc! And you'll have wasted a lot of computer time!
