GNUchess interface will let you set it down to a search depth of 2, it can still play a tough game at that level, but you can beat it probably a fair amount of time that way. I don't personally run Chess programs during downloads. You might like Bringer, nice Windows interface http://www.online.de/home/reubold/ and has good adjustments. The Dos version of Comet can be set for very (relative) easy playing levels, setting it at level "0" for example will probably give you a good fighting chance, Comet can be found at Gambitsoft or Frank Quisinsky's download page.
