Hello again,
I have just discovered a problem with using Fritz 6 in the Fritz 5.32 GUI. It
seems to have similiar problems to Fritz 5.32 when using the tablebases. Today
it was playing shredder 3 and found a mate in 45 (KQPKQ tablebase). Around
move 20 it got lost and repeated the position 3 times. I do have the KQQKQ
tablebase and Hiarcs performs these endgames correctly. The problem does not
seem to exist in the Fritz 6 GUI but I have been using the Fritz 5.32 GUI
because of another bug in the Fritz 6 GUI. The bug is Fritz 6 stops playing
sometimes in the endgame for no reason. If you have played any engine/engine
games look at your database of these games. The ones where Fritz stopped
playing will show a +- in the score instead of 1-0 indicating that white was
ahead when it quit. (Or = when it was drawish instead of .5-.5).
