At the moment, I don't have AnMon, but it's a very good program. What you probably want to do is go to Frank Quisinsky's download page and get a download of his file "config.zip" and it'll have all the information about how to run all of the Winboard engines, if the engine has a configuration file (ini, cfg, init, etc.) there'll be a directory for that program containing Frank's example of how to edit that file. And then (not in a directory I think) there'll be Frank's "winboard.ini" file, and that'll often be the key to solving odd little Winboard engine file problems. This is what he has for AnMon: \"AnMon_503 xboard\" /fd=c:\\Programme\\Winboard\\AnMon So you're problem may be as simple as not having the xboard command line parrameter in there. As I recall, you might have to turn on AnMon's opening book in it's cfg file too, I havn't looked at it in a while though. But I don't think that your problem is related to where you got your download. Pete
