Any thoughts from the computer experts would be >appreciated. Chris, I have a Cybermax Athlon 600 with 256 MB Ram. Using 184 MB Hash Tables I got Fritzmark average of 552 Nodes per second. On depth 10 it would start out at 478 and go has high as 574. If the pc was constantly reading from the C drive then the 200 MHZ bus would make a big difference. With chess programs it is usually processor power and not the bus that counts the most. Happy computing. dave
