Subject: A Christmas puzzle

Here’s a nice little puzzle I got from John Nunn, many years ago. It is is in
the latest edition of ChessBase Magazine and can be stated in one simple line:

A game begins with 1.e4 and ends in the fifth move with knight takes rook mate.
What are the moves?

If you want to read a couple of stories on it, go to
www.chessbase.com/puzzle/puzzle.htm.

It is amazing how even the best players in the world can be stumped by this
problem. There is a prize if you are able to solve it. If you do, or already
know the solution, please DO NOT post it here (obviously). Send an email to
frederic@chessbase.com. Also include some details on how long it took you and
how you went about solving the problem.

Merry Christmas everybody.
