I think Rebel had more incentive to release Rebel Decade because the name even
still isn't as established as CM & Fritz, CM & Fritz don't have to try as hard
to sell programs as Rebel does even though by now Rebel has pretty well
established themselves as putting out some heavy hitters.

Actually, I didn't even start using the internet until the DosWorld magazine
showed a screen shot of Rebel Decade 1.2 and recomended that people get a
download, and I saw it and said, "yeah, I gotta have it, and it's free!" what a
deal.

Chessbase has a different approach to offering demos,

and the CM folks, don't give those puppies anything else to do, they gotta be
paper trained again judging from the reports going around.
