I dont know about the other programs abut with SOS i had the same problem. This is probably because it has a huge hash table and there is no way to reduce it. to run SOS you have start it up and then wait for a while ( in my comp pent2 450 i had to wait like 3 mins) then reset the game and try to play .......i hope it will move..... where did you get DIEP? ( if its a winboard program) pls let me know the url. thanks pavel. merry christmass........
