That's great news! Now - what about the Macintosh version?

Apparently Chessmaster 6000 Mac has exactly the same engine Chessmaster 4000
Mac has - The King 2.0. (see notes below)

As you might imagine, this is a great disappointment to the Mac owners on this
board. When we bought a product that:

a) Billed itself as "Chessmaster 6000" (whose PC version uses The King 2.61)
b) Calls itself "The most powerful commercial chess program for your Macintosh"
on the box (in the presence of HIARCS 7.0 Mac, out for over a year)

and, most particularly, promises us in the online help:

What's new in the Chessmaster 6000 since Chessmaster 4000? Read on!
==> * The latest state of the art King chess engine." <=====

We were expecting that the engine would be "The King" 2.61 or higher.
"The King 2.0" hasn't been the "latest state of the art King chess engine"
for years.

Imagine our disappointment when running the LCTII test on Chessmaster 6000
Mac solves:
- exactly the same problems, with
- exactly the same scores at
- exactly the same ply and with
- exactly the same PV (187 out of 187 identical move choices!)
as Chessmaster 4000 Mac.

Both the Chessmaster 4000 box and the ad copy at:
http://guide.apple.com/Lasso.acgi?-database=MacOSGuide&-layout=cgi%5fdetail&-response=%2fussearch%2fdetail.html&-recid=35143&-search

identify the respective engines of Chessmaster 4000 and Chessmaster 6000 Mac
as "The King 2.0".

Any chances of getting a patch to CM6000 Mac with "The King" 2.61 or 3.X?
If they need any help from me, I have a patch generation utility
(ResCompare) that I've used to make patches for other Mac software.

A patch with "The King" 3.x engine would make me feel a lot better about this.
