Fritz's programmers release new versions very often so there is a good chance that there will not be an improvement because of a mistake of the programmers. It is not the case with Junior. I have not Junior6 but I know that there are some improvements in the positional understanding of Junior5.9 relative to Junior5. (example:Junior5 can fall in the trap of taking h2 by the bishop when the bishop is trapped when Junior5.9 does it less often) One change in Junior is reducing the value of the pawn and it can sometimes counter productive(For example Junior5.9(and also Junior6) cannot see Junior's good sacrifice against nimzo) This change is sometimes productive when Junior does a good sacrifice of a pawn or avoid taking a poisoned pawn.
