Why? This has nothing to do with advertising. I played a tournament
and reported about it. Would it be different if one of the others
would have won it?

Well, at the worldchampionships there isn't equal hardware either.
Would you say that is not a tournament either?
I have a P200 MMX and a AMD K6-2 500. Sorry, but I have not enough
money for 2 AMD's and so I couldn't play on equal hardware.....

Agree. It just won a tournament, that's all.

I am sorry that you read the message in a way I didn't want to. You see
it as propaganda, which is absolutely not my intention at all. People who
know me, know that I always want to report about tournaments as honest as
possible. See f.e. my message in ChessBits about the Dutch Open. That was
won by Quest (Fritz) and it fully deserved to win it.

But on the other hand I absolutely do not agree with you that by playing on
different hardware you cannot call it a tournament. Then we should not
accept any WC as a tournament....

Regards, Jeroen

And: Wishing you all the best in the new millennium
