Subject: Playing the king in Power Chess

For the last couple of months I've been playing daily matches with the king in
power chess. The way the program is set up the queen anylyses the game for you
after, but I don't pay much attention to it because it is pretty weak. I then
switch over to fritz and have it take a look at the game. I feel that this has
really improved my game. What I like so much about this combination is that
power chess provides an opponent that will play the same everytime(essentially)
until you beat it with a certain variation that it has played. This provides
good repetition for learning and you continually have to stretch your abilities
to beat it, for it will make minor adjustments in its play so that the inferior
moves of the last game will be history on the next. I use to play a lot of
chessmaster games but alway had the feeling that when you play a computer
personality on your level it will hang some pieces then it will play like a
superstar afterwards----just not human like for me. I have to admit that power
chess does this sometimes in the beginning but not once it has improved to match
you skills. I'm writting this to see if anyone has had a similar experiences
with powerchess or any other computer chess programs. The combination of playing
the king and anaylizing the games with fritz has opened my eyes to many
wonderful combination and ways to strengthen my game plus has provided the
needed repetition to solidify the moves in my tiny head. What a are some of
your experiences???
